# Pick up where the last session left off.

Palaestral is booking, payments and client-record software for an independent instructor who sells their own time — surf, yoga, running, strength. Strength is load and progression, one session after the next. What you note about a lifter is on their record when they come back, a plan from your own library goes onto the lesson, and a regular can come by the month.

Notes about Ben Example

> Strong hinge; keep the bar closer on the way down.

Mon, May 17 · 6:45 PM · kept until May 17, 2029

- **The plan**: Put onto the lesson from a template in your library as a copy, so changing the template later never rewrites what was taught.
- **Your note**: Notes attach to the client rather than the lesson, so what you wrote after last week's session is on their record when they come back.
- **Kept until**: Kept 24 months from the day you wrote it, then deleted. A gym you coach at sees its schedule and who is booked, never your notes.

Sample data. Not a real instructor or client.

- 24 months each note about a lifter is kept
- 52 weeks a training program can run
- 24 hours to waive a late-cancel or no-show fee

## What suits strength

- [Clients](https://palaestral.com/product/clients)

Notes attach to the lifter rather than the lesson, so last week's cue is on their record when they book again. Each is kept 24 months from the day you write it, beside their bookings, signatures and payments.
- [Packs & memberships](https://palaestral.com/product/memberships)

A membership by the month, for a number of visits or unlimited. Your terms can carry a late-cancel and a no-show fee on a lesson an unlimited membership pays for: the member agrees to it when they sign, and you can waive it for 24 hours before it is charged.
- [Booking](https://palaestral.com/product/booking)

Semi-private sessions, each lifter booking and paying for their own place. A full session takes a queue, and a place that comes free is held for the next in line.
- [Studios](https://palaestral.com/product/studios)

Coach at a gym you do not own, on its roster under your own name. The gym sees its schedule and who is booked into it, never your notes, your plans or your payment records.
