# A page that takes the booking.

Palaestral is booking, payments and client-record software for an independent instructor who sells their own time — surf, yoga, running, strength. Your times, your prices and your terms, on one page at your own address. A client picks a time, signs and pays, with no account to make and nothing to install.

A client pays exactly the price an instructor lists, and nothing is added to it.

- **Your address**: One page for everything you teach, under a name nobody else can take.
- **Each seat**: In a small group, each person books and pays for their own, so nobody has to collect money from a friend.
- **A full time**: A queue of 2 places for every seat, and a freed seat held for the next in line.

Sample data. Not a real instructor or client.

- 14 days of times your page lists
- 2 places in the queue for each seat of a full time
- 3 moves a client can make to their own booking

## Your page

Your page lives at palaestral.com/i/your-name, and the name is yours: nobody else can take it, and it stays yours if you change it later.

It lists the next 14 days of times anybody can book, written again every night, and each time carries what a search engine or a client's assistant reads to book it. It comes with a QR code that opens it.

## Times, set once

Set a lesson's days and its hour once, and its times are made 120 days ahead in the lesson's own time zone, so a 6:30 am lesson is still at 6:30 am after the clocks change.

A private lesson has one seat and a small group has more. Booking closes as far before a lesson as you choose, and nothing can book you into two places at once, at any of the places you teach.

## When a time is full

A full time takes a queue of 2 places for every seat. When a seat comes free it is held for the next person in line and offered to them, and nobody else can take it in between.

## Booking, signing, paying

A client books with a name and an email address: no account, no password, nothing to install. A booking is confirmed once everybody on it has signed your waiver, and a card payment once Stripe reports it, never when the client's browser comes back from paying.

A client pays exactly the price an instructor lists, and nothing is added to it. A payment that arrives after its seat has gone to somebody else is refunded in full.

## Moving a booking

A client can move their own booking while cancelling would still refund it in full, up to 3 times. The new time is priced the way the booking was: a dearer one is paid for first, and a cheaper one refunds the difference.

When conditions call a lesson off, you can offer each booking another time and hold its seats for up to 48 hours. Silence never moves a booking: one nobody answers is refunded on your terms for conditions.

## What stays with you

- Your page's name, which nobody else can take.
- The terms each booking was sold under, copied onto it, so a later change never reaches it.
- Every client's bookings, signatures and payments, in one record of them.
