Palaestral and Peek Pro
Which is better, Palaestral or Peek Pro?
It depends on what you run. Peek Pro suits operators of tours, activities, rentals and attractions who want point of sale for walk-ups, dynamic pricing, waitlists and selling through resellers.13 Palaestral suits an independent instructor who teaches surf, yoga, running or strength: one link takes the booking, collects a waiver signed for everybody on it, and charges the card into the instructor's own Stripe account, with a record kept of every client. Instructor signups for Palaestral open in January 2027.

What is Peek Pro?
Peek Pro describes itself as "the world's most advanced AI operating system for experiences & attractions".1 Its pages for particular businesses include boat rentals, kayak rentals and tours, rafting, watersports, bike rentals, ziplines and walking tours.1 It is made by Peek Travel, Inc., which also runs a marketplace for customers at peek.com.2
What is Palaestral?
Booking, waivers and payments for independent instructors, and a record of every client you teach: what each booked, signed and paid. A client books from your own page with a name and an email address, with no account to make and nothing to install. Instructor signups open in January 2027; until then, the list on the Get started page is open, and you are emailed once when signups open.
What does each do for booking?
Peek Pro's online booking flow comes with dynamic pricing and waitlists, and a guest on a waitlist receives a link if a spot opens.3 Its customer portal gives a guest self-rescheduling, add-ons and waivers to sign ahead, and a business can charge a fee for rescheduling.43 It follows up abandoned bookings by text and email, and it has a point of sale for walk-ups and a self-serve kiosk mode for check-in.34
Palaestral gives you a page under your own name, at palaestral.com/i/your-name, that lists the next 14 days of times anybody can book. You set a lesson's days and hour once, and its times are made 120 days ahead in the lesson's own time zone, so a dawn lesson keeps its hour when the clocks change. A full time keeps a queue of two places for each seat. A client can move their own booking up to three times while cancelling would still refund it in full. When conditions call a lesson off, you can offer each booking another time and hold its seats for up to 48 hours; a booking nobody answers is refunded on your terms for conditions.
How do payments work, and whose account is paid?
Under Peek's merchant agreement, the business is the sole seller of record, and it appoints Peek as its agent to collect card payments from customers, through payment processors Peek chooses.2 Peek keeps its fees out of what customers pay and sends the business the rest, each business day that is not a bank holiday, in US dollars unless agreed otherwise.2 A chargeback, with its fees, is taken from the next payment Peek sends, and Peek says it will use reasonable efforts to investigate and, where appropriate, challenge suspect chargebacks.2 A refund is taken from the business's payout balance, and Peek may keep its fees and processing fees on a refunded transaction.2 Customers can pay with split payments, Apple Pay, Google Pay or by invoice, among other methods.6
With Palaestral, a client pays by card on Stripe's own page, and the card is charged on your own Stripe account: the money is yours, Stripe bills its processing to you, and any 1099-K is issued in your name. Stripe pays your balance out to your bank on the schedule your account sets, and your money never sits with Palaestral on the way: the one part of a payment that passes through is a studio's share, where you teach at a studio that keeps one. A chargeback is raised against your Stripe account and you answer it from your own Stripe dashboard. Each booking is refunded on the terms it was sold under, copied onto it when it was sold.
What does the client pay?
Peek's merchant agreement lets Peek recoup currency conversion fees from customers.2 A guest can add booking protection at checkout through Peek Protect.3
On Palaestral, a client pays exactly the price an instructor lists, and nothing is added to it. A client paying from abroad sees your price as you set it, never a converted one carrying a fee.
Packs, memberships and waivers?
Peek Pro's memberships include seasonal or annual passes, reward programs and exclusive discounts, and it sells gift cards for activities, rentals or cash amounts.3 It can turn a cancellation into store credit for a later booking.3 Its digital waivers let a guest sign a liability waiver and submit ID before their booking.5
Palaestral sells memberships at a price a month for a number of visits or unlimited ones, charged on your Stripe account each month until the member cancels, with pauses of up to 90 days. It sells lesson packs, and any pack can be bought as a gift. A booking is confirmed only once your waiver is signed for every person on it, and for anyone under 18 by a parent or guardian. Each signed waiver is kept with the text that was signed, for five years or until a child turns 20, whichever is later, and nobody can delete it before then, you included.
What is kept about each client?
Peek Pro's customer profile keeps track of a guest's needs, spending and member status.4 Under its terms, the business and Peek each own the customer and sales information collected through the business's online channels, and Peek may contact customers who book through its booking widgets.2 For sales through its peek.com marketplace or its Reseller Hub, the terms say that, as between Peek and the business, Peek owns that customer and sales information.2 Peek will not sell or disclose identifiable information about a business's customers to a competitor of that business.2
Palaestral keeps one record for each client: what they booked, signed and paid, the lessons they have left, and your notes. A note is kept for 24 months from the day you write it, and only you see it. You can download a copy of all of it whenever you choose, as spreadsheets and a page for each signed waiver.
What does each cost?
Peek Pro's pricing is custom and quote-based rather than a fixed monthly plan, and a business requests a demo for a quote.1 Its merchant agreement entitles Peek to a commission or a flat fee, as set in each business's service order or otherwise agreed; card processing fees are not among Peek's fees, and are taken from what Peek sends the business.2 Its watersports page says a business is not charged for a system it does not use during its off-season.5 Peek may enroll a Peek Pro business in its peek.com marketplace, which may raise the commission rate; the business can opt out by written notice.2
Palaestral's pricing is set before signups open in January 2027, and nothing is charged before then. Card processing is Stripe's, billed to your own Stripe account.
Moving from Peek Pro?
Peek's merchant agreement runs for the term set in the service order and renews automatically, and either party can end it by written notice of non-renewal at least 30 days before the end of a renewal term.2 During the term, Peek is the exclusive provider of everything listed in the service order.2
Palaestral takes a spreadsheet of the people you already teach, up to 1,000 rows at a time: their names and email addresses, your notes about them and the lessons each has left. You see what every line will become before anything is written, and nobody in the list is told anything unless you ask. An import can be undone for 14 days, while nobody has been told and none of its lessons has been spent.
